-
We admitted that boredom and anxiety were leaving us powerless -
that our lives had become way too serious.
-
Came to believe that a Power other than Seriousness could restore
us to sanity.
-
Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the search
for FUN
as we understood it.
-
Made a searching and fearless inventory of the things we do for FUN.
-
Admitted to Silly, to ourselves and to another human being our tendency
to take Serious too seriously.
-
Were entirely ready to have Silly remove all these defects of too
much seriousness.
-
Humbly asked Silly to remove our reluctance to find better and deeper
ways to have FUN.
-
Made a list of all persons we had taken too seriously, and became
ready to get silly with, or at least be silly in spite of, them all.
-
Did something silly with such people wherever possible, except when
to do so would be taken too seriously.
-
Continued to take personal inventory and, when we found ourselves
getting too serious, promptly admitted it.
-
Sought through play and reflection to improve our conscious involvement
with FUN
as we understood it, playing only for knowledge of Silly's will for
us and the power to carry that out seriously.
-
Having had FUN
as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to the
terminally serious, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
