I spent a demeaning day in a Los Angeles Traffic Court, taking three hours to learn that I had somehow already paid $271 for my J-walking ticket.
It was one of those retrospectfully humorous experiences, especially if you enjoy absurdity.
And yet, even this not totally devoid of fun. The judge telling a woman with a screaming two-year old that he would be interested in helping her reach a speedy conclusion. A touch of "we're all people doing our job here" humor even where fun isn't supposed to be..
