I like the puppies... this presaged the LOLSPEAK phenomenon, IMHO.
Jed said...: I first came across this kind of thing in the classic 1968 children's book CDB (http://www.amazon.com/C-D-B-William-Steig/dp/0671666894), by William Steig (author of the original Shrek book, among other things). Good stuff. I now see that there's another Steig book of these, CDC, that I've never seen.
