In the beginning it was fun. Before the beginning, it wasn't.
That's all it was, was fun. Just fun. Always. Everywhere. Day, night;
earth, sky; land, water; animal, vegetable; man, woman...
Fun, nothing but fun. I was fun. You were fun. We were so much fun
that it didn't matter who was having it. Fun? It was brilliant!
It was a gas! A blast! It was a big bang!
And you know how long that lasted.
On the other hand, at the same time that we were all having so much
fun, there was in fact something else. Something we didn't create. Something
that the big kept banging into. Something besides fun. Something not-yet-fun.
It took, what, millions of years, billions for us to bring fun into
the universe.
And then we created America.
