| Maybe we don't need more fun.
Maybe what we need are more kinds of fun:
Like the kinds of fun we can find in games that are inclusive
and not exclusive, games that turn us all into players, games
that keep us all in play.
Like the kinds of fun we can have with toys that are for playing
with together, public toys that invite public play.
Like the fun of games where we don't play for score or for money
or for seeing who's better.
Like the fun of toys that are big enough to dream together in,
intricate enough to contain our shared vision.
No-sided games, many-sided games, games where we can take all
sides simultaneously.
Toys for the spirit, for the heart. We need whole body toys,
whole mind toys.
Games where the points are for the achievements joy, of wholeness,
of health in its fullest.
Toys that can mirror the uniqueness of our being, model the singularity
of our family, community, heritage.
Games where we play together: with kids and adults, body and
planet.
Whole new toys.
New, whole games. |
