OK, your not so famous friend finally got around
to listening to the entire tape – and dog gone if I didn’t
really enjoy it! I found it fascinating – first as a performance
piece and then a remarkable vehicle for self healing.
It can be
listened to on many levels: performance piece, work of art, comedy
routine, healing adventure. I think that many people, from younger
kids, to teenagers, to adults of all ages can benefit from learning
to play with the parts of themselves they are less than comfortable
saddling up to.
You of course, in you playful descriptions of the
entire crew, model absolute acceptance –and what a delightful
model!
Indeed, we can have all kinds of traits that can live together
and play together within us. There is a whole school of therapy
that focuses on sub personalities etc.. but they go about introducing
these parts of ourselves sooo seriously –and the goal is
to make peace rather than have fun. Maybe if our world leaders
got together to have fun, we would begin to communicate.
There
is no doubt in my mind that this would be a real asset to anyone
whose self talk is critical –and that’s a whole lot
of people.
